Air core coil is one kind of coil, the coil in the circuit usually refers to the inductor coil, its working principle is electromagnetic induction. Air core coils have the advantages of simple structure, high inductance accuracy, small distribution capacitance, high self-harmonic frequency, small temperature coefficient, good stability, strong anti-interference ability and so on, it is a kind of inductor that can be applied to high frequency. Empty-core coils are usually used as current transformers with wide frequency band, small size and light weight, which are convenient for digital measurement and microcomputer protection, and are widely used in TV technology, audio technology, communication transceiver, power supply filters, VCD radio heads, antenna amplifiers, tape recorders, antenna microphones and other fields.
Air core coils have three functions: choke, filtering and oscillation: 1. Choke. In low-frequency circuits, used to prevent low-frequency AC; from pulsating DC to pure DC circuits; commonly used in the middle of the two filter capacitors at the output of rectifier circuits, chokes and capacitors to form a type of filter circuit. In high-frequency circuits: it is the high-frequency choke used in old regenerative radios to prevent high-frequency current from flowing to the low-frequency end. 2. filter. The same theory as above, it also prevents the rectified pulsating DC current flow to the choke by the two capacitors (electrolytic capacitors) composed of pure DC circuit (in order to simplify the circuit, reduce costs, pure resistance instead of chokes), the use of capacitor charging and discharging function to block the AC current and the choke DC current can be obtained from the pure DC current. 3, Oscillation. We say that rectification is to turn AC into DC, then oscillation is the reverse process of DC into AC. We call the circuit that accomplishes this process “oscillator”. Oscillator waveforms: sine wave, sawtooth wave, trapezoidal wave, square wave, rectangular wave, peak wave. The frequency range is from a few hertz to tens of hertz, widely used in the field of wired power supply and radio. A good winding machine can effectively optimize the choke, filtering and oscillation effects.
Winding method of air core coil: 1. Single layer winding method. Single-layer winding method is to wind the turns of the hollow core coil in a single layer on the outer surface of the insulating tube, the single-layer winding method can be divided into indirect winding and tight winding. Some high-frequency resonant circuits generally use indirect winding, because this winding method can reduce the capacitance of the high-frequency resonant circuit diagram and stabilize some of its characteristics. The tight winding method is based on some coils with relatively small resonant coil ranges.2. Multi-layer winding method. The inductance of the coil is relatively large, and the coil is wound in multiple layers. The multilayer winding method consists of two types: dense winding and honeycomb winding. The dense winding method is closely arranged and requires layer-by-layer distribution. The capacitance produced by its wound coil is relatively large, and the honeycomb winding method is arranged at an angle. Its arrangement is not very smooth, but it has a smaller capacitance compared to the tight winding method. Some high-voltage resonant circuits, when winding hollow coils, need to meet the value of the current between the coils and the withstand voltage. When winding hollow coils, the heat generation of the coils is also considered.
